Butterfly kisses: Art journal

Hello everyone,

This week, we are featuring Butterfly Kisses stamps
These stamps, which were given a new lease of life via Hobby Art, offer a good range of designs to suit all occasions from cute to arty.

So our talented team has been working hard once again to offer you a selection of samples and step by steps throughout the week.

Starting with Michelle and her beautiful Art Journal page....

Hope you enjoy this week. Don't forget to leave a comment to let us know...

**********

Every now and again I get a yearning to be by the sea along one of my favorite coastlines on the Galloway Firth near Kirkudbright. I just love the ruggedness there and the fact that the sands are scattered with amazing shells and pebbles just waiting to be picked up and put with my craft stash!

I've ummed a ahhed over these stamps for a while but now I am so pleased I got them and will definitely be using them more over the next few months particularly as Hobby art have brought out the perfect sentiment set to go with them!

To make the page I stamped the cover a card cloud stamp onto copy paper with tumbled glass distress ink and tore the bottom edge off so it covered about 1/3 of a page. To blend the join in the stamp I mounted the stamp on flexi acrylic (an old top from a box) and held one corner up each time I repeated the stamp. When stamping the right side of the sky I held the left corner slightly off the page and visa versa.

After sticking the piece in place, I then brushed mustard seed and spiced marmalade so it would look as though the sun was peeping above the cloud.

I tore across a sheet of copy paper again this time stamping the cloud with faded jeans ink and sticking that over the first stamping about 1/2 way down.

The final piece of torn paper was just inked with bundled sage finishing off the very edge with peeled paint, then adhered to the bottom of the picture.

I then stamped the images and coloured the grass, posts and sand at the bottom with distress inks.
The main images were then stamped onto a clean piece of water colour paper and painted with distress inks before cutting out and sticking in place over the first stamped image.

All that was left was to stamp the birds, bleach out the seagull and add the sentiments and journalling.
Really enjoyed making the page - so glad I went for these stamps!
